What’s the problem we’re trying to solve?

In a Word. Wastefulness.
 
I’m Angus, a dad of 2 young girls in Japan – surrounded by consumption and single use plastics. And I’m getting to that age where I’m really starting to worry about the world that my kids will grow up in.
 
I’m not perfect but I recycle religiously, compost my kitchen scraps, try and remember my cotton tote every time I go out and look to buy things with little or no packaging.
 
But it’s hard in Japan. When I look in my rubbish bin there’s still more plastic in there than I’d like.
 
So, I wanted to bring a brand to life where all products and packaging were biodegradable, plastic free inside and out, easily recyclable but also fun.
 
And so Luko Luko was born.

Why Luko Luko?

Well, the name Luko comes from the Ancient Greek Λευκός meaning bright. And that’s the type of future I want for my girls.
